Capsule endoscopy in veterinary practice
Course overview:
This session will focus on new non invasive imaging technology requiring no anaesthesia, sedation, restriction of movement or expensive capital equipment and will discuss its role in assessing GI mucosa, GI bleeding and other GI diseases that can be diagnosed using capsule endoscopy (CE).
Course goals:
- Provide an overview of the role of CE in himan and veterinary GI diagnostics.
- Offer a review of the most recent, cutting edge studies in veterinary literature.
- Introduce the participants to a new minimally invasive GI imaging technology – ALICAM®.
- Offer case studies and examples to elaborate.
Course agenda:
- How to operate and administer ALICAM®.
- Indications / contradictions of ALICAM® in general practice.
- Patient preparation.
- Utilising the interpretation / reporting service.
- How to integrate CE into traditional GI work up.
